Sally Cleary
Mixed media artist

Melbourne, Australia / Sète, France

My career as an artist started in the ceramic arts in Australia. I have a masters degree (specialising in Ceramics) and a Doctorate (PhD) in fine art (focusing on mixed media installation art and the contemporary still life genre). I moved to Paris, France in 2015, and currently live in Sète. Ceramics has been a life long passion, and continues to inspire me to create new artworks and functional objects. I have been working with porcelain paper clay since 2016. More information about my PhD research, and installation artworks can be found on my alternative website: sallycleary.com

The ceramic artworks and objects on this website cover the period I have lived in France. Some of these artworks are available for sale - others have been sold and are in private collections. They are inspired by places I have traveled to across the world, which are numerous. I am fascinated by things in a state of ruin, which include buildings and landscapes.

I am interested in the relationship between objects, and the relationship that we, as human beings have, with the natural environment.

In 2014 I completed my PhD in Australia, and relocated to France for the foreseeable future.
